DIY - Revamping a Clutch

So last week I stumbled across this great DIY idea from I Spy DIY.This is a fantastic way to re-vamp a tired looking clutch  - or anything for that matter.

Step 1: Identify your old clutch and pick up a can of gold aerosol paint from your local hardware store. Bunnings stock a brand named Dymark which is available in gold and silver.

Step 2: Tape up your clutch to get a clean line and ensure the paint doesn't bleed.

Step 3: Lay down a protective surface and start spraying. Remember to shake the can thoroughly beforehand to ensure the colour is nice and even. Refer to the instructions on the back of the can.

Step 4: Let the paint dry then peel of the masking tape.

I now feel compelled to but a can of metallic pain to have in case of 'feel creative' emergencies.

Australis Nail Colour

When it comes to nail polish I struggle. I struggle to apply it smoothly, I struggle to have patience while waiting for it to dry and I struggle to do my right hand.

Because of this I go through phases. I will wear it for a while then I won't wear it for months. Then I spot a girl with killer nails and go on a mission to buy some new hues. I must of been envious of someone recently as I ended up purchasing Australis nail polish in "Bombshell" pink; and can I just say, this nail polish has exceeded all expectations.

This is the most chip resistant nail polish I have tried. I am pretty clumsy so usually I chip my hard work within the first couple days but it's still going strong. Woo hoo.

I highly recommend this item and for $7.95 you can't go wrong. I will be investing in Blue Tiger and Citrus colours next time I hit the shops.

Chalkboard Love

This time-lapse video of chalkboard art by Dana Tanamachi is fantastic. I admire the talent and patience to create something like this.

It got me thinking about how much character chalk boards can add to your home decor. Why limit them to children only. Chalkboard paint is affordable, available at hardware stores such as Bunnings and can be used to your hearts desire. You can get this in aerosols as well - easy!

Check out some of these great ideas:

Chalkboard Lables
Chalkboard Drawers

Chalkboard Placemats

 Magnetic Chalkboard Wall

Chalkboard Door

These add such a rustic yet sophisticated charm. Kill two birds with one stone and create a magnetic chalkboard surface. Simply buy some magnetic paint and ensure you do several coat before applying the chalkboard paint.

So if you decide to have a go, some tips to remember:
  • lay down a protective surface prior to painting
  • clean the surface of your item to remove any residues and unseen dirt
  • consider using primer beforehand if necessary
  • invest in masking tape for clean lines
Alternatively you can buy these kind of items pre-made from websites such as Sand,F.

How to wear - Angel Biba Cut Out Top

Our Angel Biba Cut Out Top is one of our most popular designs. Made from suede-like fabric, the cut out panels give it an edgy look which is perfect for festivals or casual days out at the markets. Below is an example on how you can team up this top at a festival.

It is essential to stay comfortable and practical at a festival. When you are spending hours dancing in the blistering sun you do not want to be constantly adjusting yourself. However practicality does not mean a compromise on style.

When dressing for a festival always remember
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Shoes which wont break, got trodden on or stuck in mud (i.e. thongs/flip flops!)
  • Bag secure enough for all essential items (money, phone, lip balm, sunscreen, keys, camera)
